Greetings:
This is my second post in almost a year. That's because, until recently, I hadn't planned on using my deviantART account for anything, being as I wasn't an artist and I post my stories to my own website.
[link]But recent events have cause me to change my mind. I will get into that later, but for now I have decided to become more prominent on dA, though to what extent I have not yet decided.
The first most obvious change is that I have started adding pieces to my gallery. They will consist of three types of images. The first will be pieces I created in design school, from out of my portfolio. The second will be portraits I commission of my heroic and dark fantasy character, Medb hErenn. The third will be incidental pieces created for me by other artists. Though they will all be part of my gallery, I will clearly indicate which works are my own and which were created by other people. I do not claim other people's work as my own.
Later I plan to add photographs from my vast collection and website design comps.
Speaking of design comps, I am in the process of redesigning my Official Medb hErenn website, and I have posted the comp on my gallery.
[link]I have also started adding favorites. To what extent I will do so I have not yet decided, but I can use it as a good way to save images I like so that I don't have to go search for them again later.
The biggest news is this:
In addition to my Medb hErenn stories, I also write stories about a couple of young girls who have adventures; they call themselves Team Girl!
[link]For several months I hosted their stories on the Medb hErenn website, since many of their current stories involve Medb to one degree or other. However, I recently decided to create their own website dedicated to their stories. I came up with a comp, which I will post to my gallery later, but the one thing I did not have were images. I could have published the site without any, but a website without images is pretty naked and unappealing.
Well, one day I was cruising dA looking for images of fantasy warrior women, which I collect, when I ran across the work of Morghan Leigh Peressini, who is a dA member named Pink Pigtails
[link] . I liked her work, but more importantly it looked like it would be a good match for Team Girl! So I contacted her and commissioned a portrait of my girls to see how it would look. She sent me a character study to see if she had portrayed them correctly, and I was impressed despite its roughness.
[link] Later she sent me the drawing for the portrait.
[link]I was absolutely floored. It was so good that, without seeing the finished piece, I decided to ask Pink Pigtails to be the official artist of Team Girl! She accepted, and over time I will be commissioning more artwork from her for the site and for promotional purposes. In turn, she created glamour portraits of Eile and Sunny, which are shown in my Favorites section. The portrait will be used in the site banner, the glamour pieces to illustrate the girls' bio pages, and I have combined the glamour pieces into one image that will be used for downloads, posters, and other promotional works.
As soon as I receive the portrait, I will incorporate it into the comp and post it to my gallery.
That's it for now. Future posts may be sporadic, but I will post as soon as I have more news to relate.
Thanks for reading.
